    Description

Coolyards is STILL thinning the herd; there will be MORE antique/vintage sprinklers.  Each has a history, and a story. Some will be seen on eBay, for the 2nd time.......ever. Unless otherwise stated, every unit is hose-ready, and I use my sprinklers, so they are considered to be in perfect working order!
New eBay Rule. FREE shipping, and all costs, are mine. Prices are based on my historical data-base....and typically greatly reduced. The new eBay charges, and held pay'ts are taken into consideration.  Its the Summer of 2021, so its a time to share.

Here is a real treasure for the dedicated Sprinkler Collector. While my research shows less than 100 were made, 3 have appeared on eBay....since eBay began.  I know where the 3rd is, and have the first 2 here.  "The Yard Boy 120" from '52."  NOTE: ANY fellow collector with intel, another YB, or photos please feel free to add to the history.
The unit has a toe loop, and ground stake, for anchoring.  The head is 2-fold.  Either the winged spray turret, or a Fountain Cone Spray Nozzle. A threaded boss on the up-right stores the head that is not being used. Your hose bib pressure on full, would launch any other sprinkler.
The Yard Boy is completely adjustable.  The spinning turret, OR Cone Fountain,  attaches to the units Water Control Valve. A tapered dial with 3 wings.......
the supplied water flow can be slowed to a gentle spin, or opened up for a real whirling dervish. When in the '90's here, its adjusted to a mist..with shorts and bare feet......stepping over a large dog....more than just a standing garden sprinkler, the "Yard Boy" is a 1-man circus.
The head is also adjustable from flat up-rite, to 90', riding on a nylon bushing, with twin wing-nuts to set the position.......I run mine at a 45' angle on 1/2 speed for the birds sitting above the flower bed. (When they do, its like kids at an open fire hydrant.....)
    Google Patent #D167218.
    Mel Miller,
USAF mechanic, and WW 2 veteran.....
came up with this marvel.  The construction is cast aluminum, sourced from a surplus of war materials. The spray heads were dipped in chrome, which readily pitted given the lack of proper metal prep.  The cast aluminum was, and is tough. The Yard Boy 120 never passed 100 units. Mel made his fortune in oil....
My collection of 400 + sprinklers pales in comparison to the major players out there.  You all know me and my work. To you guys, feel free to reach out about combining multiple units in your shipment. Its all paid for going in, and thanks so much for the last 123 sold sprinklers!
NOTE:  I have been collecting/re-storing Vintage/Antique Sprinklers , for more than 4 decades.  PRE-internet. PRE-Google. PRE-eBay. I am a recognized authority, on these mechanical marvels, with a restoration shop, and a data-base of knowledge. A life-time of work. I routinely share, appraise, repair sprinklers. My specialty are the brass era hydraulic machines..... I restore the past, for the future. What I don't do, is cheerfully  provide some  novice with 40 yrs. of experience. PLEASE!! ALL info. is copy-righted.  Please don't quote my wordings, without permission. At least, accredit the info. to "Coolyards."  It displays your good graces, while helping me, and our hobby. Thank You.
